Hasta la rasta, Alberto

Embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales called it quits today. Actually, he tendered his resignation on Friday, but in an uncharacteristic bit of news management by this administration, the news wasn't buried in the weekend papers. Rather than sending out a release late in the day on Friday -- a tried and true tactic of media manipulation -- he announced his resignation today. He didn't give a specific reason. Question: Now that Karl Rove and Gonzo are out, does that open them to potential Congressional testimony that isn't protected by the White House? I'd be interested to know.

Anyway, later 'Berto. You'll be missed.

With open arms...
